I usually share decorating ideas on my blog posts, but I have decided that there are so many other topics to share, and I need to venture out a little bit! I don't plan to stop sharing my decorating ideas, but I will also be sharing some other things such as recipes, my picking trips, favorite finds, enjoyable books I've read, and many other things too!

So today, I'll start with a simple but yummy recipe. I like to cook, but I also love simplicity, so I generally stay with recipes that are not too complicated or don't require lots of ingredients. I decided that my chicken salad recipe would be an excellent place to start!  The recipe is relatively basic, but you can add so many good things to it. I like to add grapes, almonds, fresh lemon juice, cheese, crumbled bacon, and pickle relish, just to name a few options. I'm sure you will find other good things to add to it also!

We have always loved chicken salad and considered it a real treat because I didn't make it very often. It took so much time and effort to shred the chicken, and I usually didn't have the time to do it. That is until I discovered a great way to shred the chicken that didn't require a lot of time or effort, and now I make it all the time. I have a KitchenAid stand mixer that I love to use, and since I learned this trick, I enjoy using it even more. It will shred the chicken in no time with very little effort on my part. After I cook the chicken, I cut it up into medium-sized pieces and place a few pieces at a time in the mixer bowl. I use the whisk attachment and keep the mixer on a medium setting, and before I know it, the chicken is beautifully shredded. I continue until all the pieces are shredded, and it's done in no time!
